ASR was commissioned to conduct audience research (2008) of a regular current affairs program which broadcast to schools throughout Australia. The study involved contacting teachers in all types of school settings (private, government and independent as well as urban, regional and rural). We collected teachers’ opinions about all aspects of the program, their ideas for improvement, and we estimated the size of the national viewing audience for the program.
ASR conducted a similar national study of teachers in all types of schools (2009). This study examined the use and value of ABC Schools TV programs within teachers’ teaching practice, how they used technology and media content within their classrooms. Ideas for changes or improvements to Schools TV programs were canvassed. The study’s results were used to direct TV programming budgets as well as in funding submissions.
