A major
Australian Government Department commissioned ASR to conduct research that formed part of an evaluation of
the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) programme
and its 27 projects.
A survey was
conducted online using SurveyManager. ASR’s responsibilities were to:
- Refine the questions required for the
questionnaire, including undertaking trial testing with an agreed number of
projects
- Conduct a pilot trial with four quite different
projects and then provide the Department with an interim report on the outcomes
from the testing, including issues raised and whether/how they are to be
addressed
- Develop and operate a suitable online portal
- Liaise with projects entering data to assist
them to accurately enter data
- Provide data and a draft summary report to the
27 projects and the Department for validation
- Provide the Department with a single collated
response of all data, including overall totals for each question, individual
project data for each question and provide programme level responses to all
questions.
- Provide the Department with a publishable final
report for public use.
The
evaluation focused on the activities of each project’s lead agent, its
interactions with both the Australian Government as primary funding agent, and
project participants as deliverers of project outcomes.
